Springfield College Alumni Book Club

The Springfield College Alumni Book Club begins its next selection Take My Hand, by Dolen Perkins-Valdez on January 5.  Please join us if you haven't already!   Inspired by true events, Take My Hand is a novel about a Black nurse in post-segregation Alabama who blows the whistle on injustices done to her patients. Don't miss an exclusive Author Talk with Dolen Perkins-Valdez on Thursday, February, 29, at 6 p.m. (EST).

How does the book club work? Compliments of the Springfield College Office of Alumni Relations, our book club connects through a private online forum where members respond to different discussions and other "bookish" topics to engage with one another.  We spend about two months reading each book to accommodate reader schedules and preferences. Discussions occur online and are asynchronous, so members can provide input whenever their schedules allow. Joining is completely free, you just need to secure a copy of Take My Hand.

Great book recommendations, stimulating conversation, virtual Author Talks, and, most of all, meaningful community.
